Quick Guide to Markings & Features
- EverGrip Technology: An innovative rubber compound and U-shaped tread grooves that ensure efficient water clearance throughout the tyre’s life.
- Sidewall Protection: Includes 8 kerbing protectors and a robust compound derived from truck tyre technology to shield against scrubbing and abrasion.
- Eco-Design: Optimised weight reduces raw material use and lowers CO2 emissions by an average of 100kg over 20,000km compared to previous generations.
- Stone Ejectors: Patented technology specifically designed to prevent pebbles from becoming wedged in the tread, protecting the casing from damage.
- Comfort Control: Proprietary internal construction that reduces road noise and vibrations for a smoother professional driving experience.
- EU Label Grade A: Confirmed highest rating for wet braking performance across the entire range, even when worn.
- C-Marking (Commercial): Indicates the tyre is specifically designed for Commercial vehicles, vans, and light trucks. These tyres are built with reinforced internal structures and multiple plies to handle heavier load capacities and the higher inflation pressures required for professional use compared to standard passenger car tyres.
Popular Fitments
- Mercedes-Benz Sprinter & VW Crafter: Delivers high-load stability and A-rated wet braking, meeting the precise performance requirements for large-capacity transporters.
- Ford Transit & Toyota Hiace: Provides durable, puncture-resistant performance for classic workhorses, ensuring high mileage and reliability on intensive local delivery routes.
- Renault Master & Opel Movano: Features optimised weight for reduced rolling resistance, helping these essential long-haul vehicles significantly lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
- Citroën Jumpy & Peugeot Expert: Offers a smooth, comfortable ride with proprietary Comfort Control technology, ideal for urban professionals and high-mileage utility drivers.
Summer Tyres vs All-Season & The Irish Climate
Summer tyres, such as the Michelin Agilis 3, use a hard compound for maximum grip and water clearance in temperatures above 7°C, but they lose traction on frost and snow. Conversely, All-Season tyres use a flexible compound and aggressive siping to ensure safety year-round. While summer tyres offer peak efficiency in mild weather, All-Season variants provide the convenience of a "fit and forget" solution with certified 3PMSF winter performance, eliminating the need for seasonal swaps in Ireland’s variable climate.
Load Rating and Speed Rating Explained
For vans and LCVs, the load index is a numerical code representing the maximum weight a single tyre can safely carry; the combined capacity of all four tyres must exceed the vehicle’s gross weight when fully loaded.
The speed rating (a letter) indicates the maximum velocity a tyre can maintain. Common LCV ratings include R (170 km/h), T (190 km/h), and H (210 km/h).
Essential Rule: Always check your vehicle’s tyre information plate (usually on the door pillar) and never fit a tyre with a lower load index or speed rating than the manufacturer's specification. See Table...
